{"id":4328,"date":"2018-09-07T22:27:47","date_gmt":"2018-09-07T22:27:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/read\/?p=4328"},"modified":"2024-11-10T11:26:10","modified_gmt":"2024-11-10T11:26:10","slug":"guide-for-the-grant-of-storage-and-sales-license-for-lubricating-oils-in-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/read\/guide-for-the-grant-of-storage-and-sales-license-for-lubricating-oils-in-nigeria\/","title":{"rendered":"GUIDE FOR THE GRANT OF STORAGE AND SALES LICENSE FOR LUBRICATING OILS IN NIGERIA"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">PROCEDURE &amp; GUIDE FOR THE GRANT OF STORAGE AND\u00a0SALES LICENSE FOR LUBRICATING OILS IN NIGERIA<\/h3>\n<p>This procedure guide (for licensing of lubricant retailing and distribution outlets in\u00a0Nigeria) is issued pursuant to the provisions of the Petroleum (Amendment)\u00a0Decree No. 37 of 1977 section 4(1) which stipulates that, no person shall import,\u00a0store, sell or distribute any petroleum products in Nigeria without a license granted\u00a0by the Director of Petroleum Resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Read: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/process-obtain-company-tax-clearance-certificate-nigeria\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">How to obtain Your Company Tax Clearance in Nigeria<\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nAll applications for grant of storage and sales license for lubricants shall be\u00a0in the prescribed application form and forwarded to the Director,\u00a0Department of Petroleum Resources or any of its offices nationwide.<br \/>\nEach application shall be accompanied by the following documents:<\/p>\n<p>i) Letter from sponsoring blending company. Also, attach \u2018letter(s) of\u00a0appointment\u2019 from lube blending company(s) where retailer or<br \/>\ndistributor is marketing lubricants from more than one sponsoring\u00a0company.<\/p>\n<p>ii) State\/Local Government\/Local Council Development Authority site\u00a0permit (for sites outside service stations).<\/p>\n<p>iii) Evidence of tax payment by retailer or distributor for the preceding\u00a0year.<\/p>\n<p>iv) Proof of competence on safe handling and distribution\/retailing of\u00a0lubricating oils. They should be able to educate customers as<br \/>\napplicable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Storage and Sales Location Suitability Requirements in Nigeria<\/strong><br \/>\nThe applicant shall provide a storage premises for the retailing and\u00a0distribution of lubricants. The premises shall meet the following<br \/>\nrequirements:<br \/>\ni. It shall be comprised of a Store or a Warehouse for retailing and bulk\u00a0distribution respectively of lubricants.<br \/>\nii. It shall be well ventilated (not in a cellar enclosure) and must be at\u00a0least 15m from any possible source of ignition.<br \/>\niii. It shall be painted Grey (60%) with the sponsors(s) trade\u00a0name(s)\/logo(s) conspicuously embossed.<br \/>\niv. Be provided with adequate fire extinguishers (dry chemical powder\u00a0or Carbon dioxide foam extinguishers). Sand buckets shall also be\u00a0provided.<br \/>\nv. Be provided with a sales register must be maintained for records\u00a0of every transactions with a sales receipt issued.<br \/>\nvi. Be provided with waste disposal bins for the collection of used\u00a0lubricant containers and an evacuation methodology of the<br \/>\nwaste derived therefrom.<br \/>\nvii. Periodic returns on the total volume of lubricants retailed or\u00a0distributed must be made to the nearest DPR office at prescribed<br \/>\nintervals.<br \/>\nviii. Storage and Sales of any other petroleum product is highly prohibited\u00a0highly prohibited from the premises.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Get:<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> <a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/register-company-business-registration-service-nigeria\/\">Company formation or Registration Service in Nigeria<\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><strong>Facility Inspection by DPR\u00a0Nigeria<\/strong><br \/>\nConsequent upon a successful submission of an application for storage and\u00a0sales license for lubricants, an inspection of the retailing or distribution\u00a0location (with auxiliary facilities) shall be conducted by officers of the\u00a0Department in line with set statutory provisions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Statutory License Issuance\/Renewal Fee in Naira<\/strong><br \/>\nThe following fees shall be applicable as statutory license fees and payable as\u00a0both license issuance and renewal fees via DPR Treasury Single Account\u00a0Platform.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4614\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/FEES-STORAGE-and-SALES-LICENSE-FOR-LUBRICATING-OILS-NIGERIA-600x260.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"260\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In view of the above Table, \u2018E\u2019 denotes Category \u2018E\u2019 (Storage and Sales\u00a0license category for lubricating oils) where, \u2018E-D\u2019 &amp; \u2018E-R\u2019 represents Storage\u00a0and Sales license for lubricants Distribution and Retailing respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the above, a Processing fee of N50,000 and N10,000 shall\u00a0respectively be paid by distributors and retailer for the grant\/renewal of\u00a0license.<\/p>\n<p><strong>License Validity<\/strong><br \/>\nThe validity of license for the storage and sales of lubricating oils shall be for a\u00a0period of two years, expiring on the 31st December, of the other year, following\u00a0issue of license.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Read: <a
