{"id":6278,"date":"2020-11-20T23:16:53","date_gmt":"2020-11-20T23:16:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/read\/?p=6278"},"modified":"2024-11-07T09:44:31","modified_gmt":"2024-11-07T09:44:31","slug":"nigerian-content-intervention-fund-ncif","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/read\/nigerian-content-intervention-fund-ncif\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigerian Content Intervention Fund (NCIF)"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6279\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Nigerian-Content-Intervention-Fund.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is Nigerian Content Intervention Fund (NCIF)?<\/strong><\/h6>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/accessing-the-nigeria-content-intervention-nci-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nigerian Content Intervention (NCI) Fund<\/a> is a pool of funds made available by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/read\/local-content-development-oil-and-gas-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB)<\/a> to be managed by the Bank of Industry to meet the funding needs of indigenous manufacturers, service providers and other key players in the Nigerian Oil and gas Industry<a>. <\/a>It is sourced from the Nigerian Content Development Fund (NCDF) created by section 104 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/read\/nigerian-content-act\/\">Nigerian Oil and Gas Content Development Act (NOGICD) Act<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Nigerian Content Intervention Fund (NCIF) was motivated by the desire to re-engineer the operations of the NCDF, increase access to funding and grow indigenous participation in the oil and gas industry.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/nogic-jqs-registration-certificate-requirements\/\">NOGIC JQS Registration Requirements (Local Content) <\/a><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>To increase access to Nigerian Content Development Fund (NCDF).\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>To provide single digit interest loan.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>To enhance competitiveness of indigenous companies servicing the oil and gas industry.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Purpose<\/strong><strong> for Nigerian Content Intervention Fund<\/strong><strong> (NCIF) <\/strong><\/h6>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Nigerian Content Intervention (NCI) Fund is a Nigerian Content Development &amp; Monitoring Board (NCDMB) fund managed by Bank of Industry Limited (BOI).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The NCI fund was motivated by the desire to re-engineer the operations of the NCDF, increase access to funding and grow indigenous participation in the oil and gas industry.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The NCI fund is designed to achieve the following strategic objectives:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>To increase indigenous participation in the oil and gas industry, build local capacity and competencies.<\/li>\r\n<li>To promote the growth and development of Nigerian Content in activities connected with sectors of the Nigerian oil and gas Industry.<\/li>\r\n<li>To deepen the creation of linkages to other sectors of the national economy and boost industry contributions to the growth of Nigeria\u2019s National Gross Domestic Product.<\/li>\r\n<li>To address persistent funding challenges that have hindered capacity and growth of local service providers in oil and gas.<\/li>\r\n<li>To facilitate the growth of community based companies in the upstream oil and gas sector.<\/li>\r\n<li>To spur productivity and job creation in the Oil and Gas Industry.<\/li>\r\n<li>To attract investment capital into the sector and boost contribution of the sector to Nigeria\u2019s economic growth.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits of NCI Fund Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria.<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Nigeria Content Intervention Fund is meant for Oil and Gas Manufacturing Loan, Asset acquisition financing, Loan re-financing<strong>, <\/strong>Community contractor finance schemeand Contract Finance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The facility type are Term loans, Working Capital, Invoice Discounting and Leasing facility. The NCI Funding are for maximum of 5 years tenor.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The benefits are many to local economy, host communities and players in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. The single obligor limit for the available types of funding is detailed below:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><strong>i)<\/strong>Manufacturing Loan &#8211; US$10million<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>ii)<\/strong>Asset acquisition Loan &#8211; US$10million<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>iii)<\/strong>Contract finance Loan &#8211; US$5million<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>iv)<\/strong>Community Contractor Finance Scheme \u2013 N20million<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>v)<\/strong>Loan Re-financing &#8211; US$10million<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>NCI Funding Interest Rate<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>i)<\/strong>\u00a0Manufacturing Loan \u2013 8%<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>ii)<\/strong>\u00a0Asset acquisition Loan &#8211; 8%<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>iii)<\/strong>\u00a0Contract finance Loan \u2013 8%<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>iv)<\/strong>\u00a0Community Contractor Finance Scheme \u2013 5%<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>v)<\/strong>\u00a0Loan Re-financing \u2013 8%<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><br \/>The 10% equity contribution will only apply to manufacturing and asset acquisition facility types.
