These structures were not elected, but nominated through a cooptation system. From 1880, Morocco began a range of reforms to adapt its institutions to modern standards. Among these reforms the creation of the position of\u00a0grand vizier, having a structured and durable cabinet, with six ministries, including foreign affairs, finance, defense etc. In the process, the Sultan\u00a0Abdelaziz\u00a0decided to create a consultative assembly in 1904, which he named\u00a0<em>Majlis el Aayane<\/em>.\u00a0It is this assembly that summoned the international\u00a0conference of Algeciras, and that drafted the constitution of 1908, which never entered into force because of the political unrests.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Read: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/read\/history-of-house-of-senate-in-morocco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"8618\">HISTORY OF HOUSE OF SENATE IN MOROCCO<\/a><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The National Assembly of Qu\u00e9bec and the\u00a0House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco\u00a0signed an\u00a0agreement in\u00a02012 which created the\u00a0Morocco-Qu\u00e9bec interparliamentary standing committee. The committee, which meets once a year, provides a framework of co-operation for the two assemblies. Subjects of discussion include the role of parliamentarians and ways to foster socio-economic and cultural ties between the two peoples.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>On 24 January 2023, the House of Representatives approved a bill that would set a level of \u201cadequate knowledge\u201d of\u00a0Tamazight\u00a0as a condition for obtaining Moroccan citizenship<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Interparliamentary co-operation also takes the form of seminars for the administrative staff of Morocco&#8217;s House of Representatives, during which the conduct of parliamentary proceedings and the particulars of parliamentary administration are discussed.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8629\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aziza.com.ng\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/House-of-Representatives-Morocco.jpg\" alt=\"House of Representatives\" width=\"734\" height=\"489\" \/>\r\n<figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">House of Representatives<\/figcaption>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The House of Representatives\u00a0is the\u00a0lower house\u00a0of the\u00a0Parliament of Morocco.
